MARGARITA GARCIA FAURE

Surfaces

by Patricia Rizzo, Gigante exhibition, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Buenos Aires, 2004

A classical sense and delicate structures are constant factors in the work of MGF, which has developed a thematic repertoire based on uncertain stages, and enigmatic visual patterns.

Her meticulous and conscientious compositions enter the realm of the dreamlike, with colours and highly contrasted variations that do not refer to any specific or recognizable pattern.

Far from representation, her paintings reveal themselves as an all-encompassing atmosphere of delicate and eccentric sensibility.

The actions suggested by way of illustration – through series and repeated topics – pause upon the joy of the textures, using matter as a subject on itself.

Through a kind of work that is linked to the meditative, obsessive, concentrated and introspective, it is connected with the celebration of the pleasure implicit with the act of painting.
